He denounced this as a "vile and inhumane intimidation tactic" commonly used by Russia.

The president emphasized that such attacks demonstrate Moscow’s unchanged objectives, reinforcing the need for stronger air defenses and harsher sanctions against Russia. He urged international partners to intensify efforts to cut off the Kremlin’s ability to finance the war, stressing that "everything that helps Putin finance the war must collapse."

Poland is preparing for war: adult males will undergo large-scale military training - PM Tusk

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on March 7 plans to introduce large-scale military training for all adult men, aiming to strengthen the country’s reserve forces. Speaking before the Sejm, Poland’s parliament, Tusk emphasized that the initiative is a response to growing security threats from Russia. He warned that if Ukraine loses the war or is forced into a peace deal that weakens its sovereignty, Poland will face a significantly more challenging geopolitical situation. To bolster national defense, Tusk proposed expanding the Polish military from its current 200,000 troops to 500,000, citing Russia’s 1.3 million-strong army and Ukraine’s estimated 800,000 troops as key comparisons.

The prime minister stated that Poland aims to develop a model by the end of the year to ensure that every adult male is trained for wartime scenarios, creating a reserve force capable of responding to potential threats. Poland has been one of Ukraine’s strongest allies since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, supplying vital military aid, including tanks, heavy equipment, and ammunition. This new training initiative underscores Warsaw’s commitment to regional security and its proactive approach to deterring potential aggression.
