2 injured in Kharkiv after Russian drone hits apartment building

On November 13, a Russian drone struck an apartment building in Kharkiv’s northeastern Saltivskyi district, injuring at least two people, according to local officials. The incident took place near a shopping center around 11:30 a.m., damaging multiple cars, public transportation infrastructure, and nearby building facades. Thankfully, no fire was reported.

Two residents initially reported as injured received medical assistance but did not suffer physical injuries. However, a 74-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds, while an 84-year-old woman required treatment for a hypertensive crisis, and a 53-year-old woman was hospitalized after experiencing shock. None of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries, as confirmed by Governor Oleh Syniehubov.

Located less than 30 kilometers from the Russian border, Kharkiv has endured relentless attacks since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Recently, these aerial strikes have intensified, with Moscow often targeting densely populated neighborhoods using drones, missiles, and glide bombs.

Poll shows 88% of Ukrainians believe Ukraine will win war against Russia

The majority of Ukrainians continue to believe in their country's victory over Russia, with over 60% expecting the conflict to conclude within the next two years.

Recent data shows that 88% of Ukrainians remain confident in a successful outcome, though overall confidence has seen a modest decrease since early 2022. Back then, nearly all respondents expressed belief in victory, but by 2024, this figure had dropped by about 9%.

In terms of timelines, 31% of Ukrainians think the war will end in under a year, while 33% anticipate it could last between one and two years.

The survey reached 2,000 adult residents across Ukraine, excluding those in occupied territories and Ukrainians currently abroad. This perspective reflects the enduring resilience and cautious optimism within the population, as citizens remain hopeful while adjusting their expectations for the path forward.

Later, the Kherson Oblast Military Administration reported additional casualties from a Russian drone strike on Antonivka at around 9:00 a.m. A man suffered a blast injury and shrapnel wound to his arm, while an 85-year-old woman sustained injuries to her torso, face, arms, and legs, as well as a blast injury. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.

This attack follows a wave of drone strikes launched by Russian forces on the evening of November 12 from multiple directions across Ukraine, continuing a pattern of escalating aerial assaults.
