Russian missile hit residential area in Odesa: 10 people killed, many injured
This morning Russian forces launched a ballistic Iskander M missile, Ukrainian air defense forces shot the missile down but unfortunately parts of the rocket fell on the highly populated residential area of Odesa. So far is already known about 10 death people, and 43 were injured including 4 children.
Russian missile attack on Sumy killed 11 people, injured 89
On the night of Nov. 18, Russian forces launched multiple missile attacks on the city of Sumy, striking residential and energy infrastructure.
A ballistic missile hit a nine-story residential building around 9:30 p.m., killing 11 people, including a 9-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl. At least 89 others were injured, among them 11 children.
Hours later, at 12:30 a.m., another missile struck energy infrastructure, causing power outages in parts of the city.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks, calling them criminal acts and offering condolences to the victims' families. Acting Sumy Mayor Artem Kobzar reported extensive damage, including shattered windows in nearby homes, as emergency services continued rescue operations.
Russian strikes in Sumy Oblast have intensified recently, with communities near the Russian border experiencing daily shelling. The attacks come amid rising fears of a potential new offensive in the region.
The assault on Sumy follows a nationwide Russian missile campaign targeting energy infrastructure, which killed seven and injured at least 19 the previous night.
Zelenskyy criticizes "calls and meetings" with Putin amid massive strikes on Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned recent diplomatic engagements with Russian President Vladimir Putin, highlighting the ongoing large-scale attacks on Ukrainian territories.
Following a missile strike on a residential neighborhood in Odesa that killed eight people, Zelenskyy referenced German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's recent call with Putin.
“These are not random attacks; they are deliberate and indicative,” Zelenskyy stated. He dismissed notions of Russian restraint, emphasizing that Moscow remains committed to continuing the war.
Zelenskyy urged the international community, including G20 members and global leaders, to recognize Russia's unyielding aggression and act accordingly.
