Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia killed 4, injured 33, hospital damaged

Russian forces attacked the city of Zaporizhzhia on Nov. 7, killing four people and injuring at least 33, including three children, according to local authorities. Russia used guided aerial bombs in the attack, partially destroying an apartment building, damaging homes, and impacting a cancer hospital. The number of casualties may rise as search and rescue operations continue.

Following the strike, President Zelensky urged Ukraine’s allies to increase air defense support and lift restrictions on Ukrainian strikes against Russian targets. Zaporizhzhia has faced frequent attacks; a similar strike on Nov. 5 left six dead and 23 injured.

Kremlin reacts to Trump's claim about ending war in Ukraine "in 24 hours"

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has dismissed U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s claim that he could end the war in Ukraine “in 24 hours,” calling it an “exaggeration.” According to the Kremlin-aligned news agency RIA Novosti, Peskov acknowledged Trump’s repeated assertions but questioned their feasibility. However, he expressed hope that if the new U.S. administration prioritizes peace over prolonging the conflict, it would be an improvement over previous policies.

Russians start installing vacuum bombs on Shahed drones

Russia has reportedly begun deploying Shahed-136 drones equipped with thermobaric warheads, significantly increasing their destructive power against buildings and urban areas, according to Defense Express. The TB BCh-50 warhead, weighing 52.4 kg, combines thermobaric and fragmentation effects, with 2,306 metal balls designed to cause extensive structural damage and injury to people.

Unlike older two-stage thermobaric weapons, which spread an explosive substance before detonation, this modern warhead uses a single-stage design. Upon detonation, it generates a shock wave that disperses the thermobaric mixture, creating an intense fire cloud with temperatures reaching 2,400-2,600°C. This cloud can engulf confined spaces, causing severe damage to human organs, such as the lungs and ears.

The article suggests that Russia’s use of these drones with thermobaric warheads is intended to maximize civilian casualties in Ukrainian cities, with Kyiv being a primary target.
